Kaitou Kid is a world-renowned thief who steals treasure and gems. He is known as the Kaitou Kid or International Criminal 1412. Yusaku Kudo discovered a name for 1412, "KID" (14 = KI, 12 = D). The Japanese word "Kaito" means "mysterious thief".
The first Kaito Kid is Kuroba Toichi, who worked in "The Black Organization". Later, he was murdered by "The Black Organization". The current Kaitou Kid is Kuroba Kaito, which is Toichi's son. Kuroba Kaito has the similar face as Kudou Shinichi, but different hair style. He learned magic and the art of disguise from his father.
