I am pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at University of Chile. My thesis work is focused on
improving Web multimedia retrieval through the enhancement of multimedia context information
extracted from the Web. I believe that the analysis of usage data from on-line social networks and
Web search engines is key to reduce the semantic gap. As an additional outcome from my research,
I have gained experience using the Hadoop framework with Pig, and the APIs of Flickr and Twitter.
