I got out of the Marine Corps October 23 after four faithful years of service. I guess the biggest things the Marine Corps gave me when I left was a pot belly, laziness, high blood pressure and a disability rating yet to be determined by the VA that will eventually pay me for the rest of my life.
My time there wasn't all bad. I spent time all over Japan, Iraq, Cali, Arizona, N Carolina, Virginia, Phillippines, Thailand, Alaska and a whole lot of other places.
I have my regrets of joining but I'm glad I did it so I don't have to go the rest of my life wondering "what if?"
Plus the benefits I get now as a civilian are going to be amazing!!! Soon as I get my DD 214.
