As Professional Specialist in the Department of Physics at the University of Notre Dame, Tom Loughran brings a philosopher’s perspective to the task of building an integrated community among professionals in STEM research and K-12 education. Recipient of the B.S. in Chemistry and Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame (1980, 1986), Loughran taught Engineering Ethics at the University of Portland (1987-1994); and Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics at Trinity School at Greenlawn (1994-2004) and Saint Joseph's High School (2004-06), both in South Bend, IN.
