In 2001, I took a chance. I asked - what if marketing and sales can benefit from the use of personas as had product and software design? That year, I pioneered the concept of buyer personas and a buyer research methodology designed to help us understand customers at a deeper level. Thanks to organizations who were early adopters, buyer personas are finding its' way into the mainstream of marketing and sales. Buyer research and buyer insights used to create buyer personas have enabled companies to make informed decisions on strategies to grow top line revenues and retain customers.
