The holocaust of World War II was perhaps one of the most tragic and inhumane events of modern history. Millions of people were sterilized and destroyed because of their "race" and supposed flawed genetic makeup. Although the human gene had not yet been discovered, nor was there any proof that those exterminated were flawed in any way, the Nazi SS used eugenics, hate, and the poverty of their nation to justify what we now view as a grave adversity.
