Dr. Abu Umar Faruq Ahmad is an Assistant Professor of Islamic Finance at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University, Dubai. He received his LLM (Hons) and PhD at the University of Western Sydney (UWS), Australia, with two prestigious University wide research scholarships for his doctoral study in which he earned an A (high distinction) for the quality of his research. His study preceded a declaration by the Federal Government of Australia to accommodate Islamic banking products and services while still protecting consumers.
