Dhahran Poetry Group (DPG) was created in 2009 in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The main objective of creating this group was to provide a unique platform for the ladies and gents of Aramco community to promote poetry, specifically Urdu poetry which has so much passion in it.
On March 3rd, 2011, DPG held its 2nd Annual Poetry Night event in Ad-Diwan. The event was attended by more than 250 audience. About 50 ladies and gent members of Dhahran Poetry Group from Aramco community (grade 11+) participated in this event and presented four different genre of Urdu poetry, including serious poetry, mazahiya poetry, bait bazi competition, and a "Bhojo To Janein" segment.
