—  Questions tags are short questions placed at the
end of the sentence.

—  We use them when
1)  We are not sure of something
2)  We ask for conformation

— They play football on Sundays, don't
they?
— He isn't from Germany, is he?

— You are Tom, aren't you?

— Tag questions are formed with the auxiliary
verb(have, be) and a personal pronoun such
as (I, you, he, she, we, they).

—  If the statement is positive, the question tag is
negative
—  Example:
He is from Germany, isn't he?

—  If the statement is negative, the question tag is
positive
—  Example:
He isn't from Germany, is he?

With Auxiliaries: (have, had, has, be):
You've got a car, haven't you?
They weren’t here, were they?
—  personal pronoun:
I’m the fastest, aren’t I?
—  With model verbs:
They couldn’t hear me, could they?
—  Without auxiliaries:
I said that, didn’t I?
—  You don’t recognize me, do you?
