Tag	questions
 Questions	tags	are	short	questions	placed	at	the	
end	of	the	sentence.		
	
	
 We	use	them	when		
1) We	are	not	sure	of	something		
2) We	ask	for	conformation
They	play	football	on	Sundays,	don't	
they?	
He	isn't	from	Germany,	is	he?	
	
You	are	Tom,	aren't	you?
Tag	questions	are	formed	with	the	auxiliary	
verb(have,	be)	and	a	personal	pronoun	such	
as	(I,	you,	he,	she,	we,	they).
 If	the	statement	is	positive,	the	question	tag	is	
negative		
 Example:		
	He	is	from	Germany,	isn't	he?	
	
 If	the	statement	is	negative,	the	question	tag	is	
positive		
 Example:		
He	isn't	from	Germany,	is	he?
With	Auxiliaries:	(have,	had,	has,	be):		
	You've	got	a	car,	haven't	you?	
They	werent	here,	were	they?	
 personal	pronoun:		
Im	the	fastest,	arent	I?	
 With	model	verbs:		
They	couldnt	hear	me,	could	they?	
 Without	auxiliaries:	
I	said	that,	didnt	I?		
 You	dont	recognize	me,	do	you?
 1.	She's	an	accountant,	..................	?	
(A)aren't	she		(B)isn't	she		(C)she	isn't		
 2.	I'm	here,	..................	?	
(A)aren't	we		(B)aren't	I		(C)am	I	not		
 3.	You	and	I	are	very	busy	right	now,	..................	?

 4.	It	isn't	very	windy	today,	..................	?	
(A)hasn't	it		(B)isn't	it		(C)is	it		
 5.	She	isn't	Italian,	.?
