- 1. During the spring 2015, I spent a semester abroad and traveled all around Europe. I shopped in Italy, interacted with locals in Spain, saw ancient ruins in Greece, climbed Arthur's Seat in Scotland, drank beer at the Guinness Factory in Ireland, toured England, and walked along canals in Amsterdam, and yet my thirst for travel has only grown stronger following my return flight home to Evansville. People are always surprised and impressed when I express my desire to see more, do more, and learn more. I believe that travel is a vital part of life. Every since I was a little girl, I remember dreaming about discovering far off places. I would dress up in costumes and pretend to be a native from another culture, a princess from a foreign land, or a mermaid living under the sea. I wanted to eat, sleep, live, and breathe travel. One particular desire I have is to sail across the world on a cruise ship. My parents have continuously taken cruise vacations throughout the years, and I have enjoyed hearing about their excursions and their experiences while aboard their cruise ships. After researching many cruise ships, I have gained insight into the various opportunities that a cruise trip would afford to me. In my personal opinion, Uniworld seems to meet all of my cruising needs. I love to be fully immersed in the culture of the countries around me, so Uniworld's unique ship designs including original artwork, antique furniture, and other fine touches truly impress me. The cruise lines sail all around the world including the Rhine, Moselle, & Danube Rivers, Italy's Po River & the Venice Lagoon, France's Seine, Rhode, Saone, Garonne, Gironde, & Dordogne Rivers, Portugal and Spain's Douro River, and Russia's Volga, Neva, & Svir Rivers as well as around the countries of India, China, Vietnam and Cambodia, and Egypt. I will be able to see famous landmarks, watch the sun rise and set on turquoise blue water, eat delicious foods, entertainment myself both on and off board, and so much more. I am obsessed with good food, therefore the Uniworld's authentic cuisine appealed to me. One of the most intriguing specials offered is the Rajma Masala (Indian red kidney stew with onions, garlic, chili, tomatoes, and naan bread) which sounds absolutely divine. I will be able to share with all my friends how I feasted on traditional dumpling banquets in Beijing and can still eat good old fashion western food. Did I mention that an extensive selection of alcohol and soft drinks are all inclusive? I won't have to spend any extra money while taste testing the local wine and house beers. I will have the opportunity to dine at random throughout the day depending on my preferences because Uniworld offers an Early Riser Breakfast, Light Lunch Dining, Afternoon Tea, a Bistro Menu for all day snacking, receptions, and gala dinners as well as a 24/7 coffee and tea station. - 2. Yours in regards to excursions and activities. I can hike and bike with nature guides or meander through local areas. I am incredibly exuberant about the Do As the Locals Do excursions that will allow me to walk in the shoes of a local citizen. This will allow me to really understand the lifestyle of people from other countries so that I can learn more about myself and what I want out of life. In terms of service, I am happy that the staff aboard Uniworld Cruise Ships are rigorously trained to be the best at what they do.
