Pledges of Aqaba: Biography of Prophet Muhammad
- 1. PLEDGES OF AQABA ? a promise or agreement to do something ?
- 3. Background Return of Holy Prophet Muhammad 惶 愕 惺 悋 from Taif: Realization that people of Quraish will not refrain from their persecutions. Prophet Muhammad 愕 惺 悋 惶 turned towards the people who came for Pilgrimage (Hajj) and invited them to accept Islam.
- 4. Background Quraish also started to conspire to stop the Holy Prophet 愕 惺 悋 惶 from getting strength amongst the pilgrims They spread false acquisitions regarding the Prophet 愕 惺 悋 惶
- 5. Success! These efforts of the Prophet 愕 惺 悋 惶 proved fruitful 6 people of Yathrib (Madina) accepted Islam. They invited other people of Yathrib to Islam
- 6. First Pledge of Aqaba 12th year of Prophethood
- 7. First Pledge of Aqaba 7 people Met Prophet 愕 惺 悋 惶 at Aqaba
- 8. The Pledge They promised to: Follow the commandments of Allah 愕惡忰悋 惠惺悋 And teachings of the Prophet 惺 悋 惶愕 The pledge on the Wall of Masjid Al-Aqabah
- 9. Then.. Hazrat Musaib bin Umer was sent to Yathrib Many people accepted Islam on his hand And the next year
- 10. Second Pledge of Aqaba 13th year of Prophethood
- 11. Second Pledge of Aqaba 75 people Many chiefs and Leaders Invited Prophet 愕 惺 悋 惶 to come to Medina
- 12. Place where second pledge was taken. Now a mosque is constructed there named Masjid Baita The Pledge To follow Prophet 愕 惺 悋 惶 and To guard him, not let anyone harm him.

- 16. Muslims became strong and started practicing Islam openly and peacefully in Medina

- #8: In the twelfth year of Prophethood, 7 people from Madinah came for pilgrimage. Holy Prophet (S.A.W) preached Islam in front of them. This new religion inspired them a lot. Consequently they converted to Islam and pledged on the hand of Holy Prophet (S.A.W) that they will help him in every and any manner possible. This angered Quraish a lot and they multiplied their efforts in stopping the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) These people went back and spread the message of Islam in their tribes.
- #12: Next year, i.e. thirteenth year of Prophethood, sevety five more people came to Holy Prophet (S.A.W) and accepted Islam and pledged to help Holy Prophet (S.A.W) that they will help in every and any manner possible. They also gave invitation to Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) to come to Madinah and spend his life there as they knew that people of Makkah are becoming a great nuisance for Muslims Holy Prophet (S.A.W) sent Hazrat Musab bin Umair (R.A) along with them so that he can teach them Holy Quran.
- #15: As a result of this pledge, Muslims got an option to migrate to Madinah and follow Islam with more passion and spirit. ALLAH (S.W.T.) also gave permission to the Muslims to migrate towards Madina in the following words And Say (O Muhammad S.A.W); My Lord! Let my entry (to the city of Al-Madinah) be good, and (likewise) my exit (from the city of Makkah) be good. And grant me from You and authority to hep me (or a firm sign or a proof) (Surah al Isra:80) This gave boost to Muslims overall strength as now they could practice and preach Islam with freedom
