Andreas Essing studied electrical engineering with the focus on computer science at the RWTH Aachen University in Germany. After graduation, he worked as part of a trainee program at Siemens AG in several business units including studies on computer science at UC Berkeley in California.
Starting in 1993 he worked as an IT consultant in various areas of Siemens AG and designed the first major enterprise-wide messaging systems based on Microsoft technologies for international customers.
