The main focus of my work is to bridge the (re)-insurance business with big data capabilities. How by using new machine learning approaches, new unstructured data sources, can the existing (re)-insurance businesses be improved or reinvented ? How can new data driven approaches create value ?
As big data has a lot to do with model definition, I am also working in the development of a powerful probabilistic forward looking costing model in the casualty business. I am especially interested in the development of models aiming to quantify cyber risks.
As founding board member of the Opendata.ch association, I am also strongly engaged in the promotion of the Open Data movement in Switzerland.
