After two decades as a professional journalist, half as a newspaper reporter and half as an assigning editor, I started my Ph.D. in Journalism Studies at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, College Park.
I've created coaching and development programs, am skilled with QuarkXpress, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Phhotoshop, Lexis-Nexis, and various publishing suites.
As an assigning editor, I helped lead my newspaper's transition to the Web in the early 2000s, and have led teams of reporters on award-winning projects and breaking news.
