There are different types of portfolios that can serve different purposes, such as documentation portfolios that show growth over time with drafts and finished work, process portfolios that document how students learn skills, and assessment portfolios that are used to document what a student has learned and appropriately place them.

experiences and goals.
6. Phase three: Reflection
Wherever possible, there should be evidence of
students卒 metacognitive reflections upon the learning
process and their monitoring of their evolving
comprehension of key knowledge and skills.
7. There are many different types of portfolios, each of
which can serve to one or more specific purposes as part
of an overall school or classroom assessment program.

Documentation portfolio
Is also known as the working portfolio.
Involves a collection of work over time showing growth
and improvement reflecting students卒 learning.
Can include everything from brainstorming activities to
drafts to finished products.
8. Process portfolio
Documents all the facets or phases of the learning
process.
It can show how students integrate specific knowledge or
skills.
Emphasizes students卒 reflection upon their learning
process.
9. Showcase Portfolio
Is best used for summative evaluation of students卒
mastery of key curriculum outcomes.
It should include students卒 very best works, determined
through a combination of student and teacher selection.
Only completed work should be include.
This portfolio should also include written analysis and
reflections by the student.
10. Assessment Portfolio
The primary function of this portfolio is to document what
a student has learned.
The content is selecting by the students.
The portfolio should include examples about the content.
