• I am an applied physicist interested in solar thermal energy storage (TES) systems with a PhD in Applied Physics specialising in solar thermal energy storage for domestic applications. I obtained the PhD in 2010 from the North West University and seven peer reviewed journal articles were generated as a direct result of the PhD study. I am presently a senior lecturer in the department of physics and electronics and the principal solar thermal researcher in that department. My current and future research interests fall into three main categories; (i) small thermal energy storage systems for domestic applications, (ii) solar domestic receivers and discharging heat exchangers and (iii) cheap
