successful. You have built a dedicated customer base, a good
reputation for paying suppliers and provide goods and services
efficiently and quickly, and are a member in good standing of the
local business community.
Now, imagine that all you have worked for was destroyed or

BE PREPARED LIKE NOAH AND PROTECT YOUR BUSINESS
BEFORE A DISASTER HAPPENS!
Business Continuity Management

BCM aims to improve an organizations resilience. By identifying,
in advance, the potential impacts of a wide variety of sudden
disruptions to the organizations ability to succeed it is able to
prioritize the efforts of various other specialists aiming to
achieve resilience in their areas of expertise such as security,
facilities and IT.
The Myths
    It wont happen to us

We will cope we always do
We are too big to fail
   Well worry about it later

When questioned about their lack of preparedness, companies often
rationalize there was no reason to be concerned with preparing for a disaster
or major business disruption, which may or may not even happen. Some
companies believe their insurance companies will pay for everything. Most
companies think they dont have the time to prepare for something that will
never happen. But the reality is a huge percentage of companies that are hit
with a major business disruption never recover, and many of them go out of
  business entirely.

≒ false assumptions.
Sobering Statistics
"The average company will lose at least 25% of their Daily Revenue in
the first six days and over 40% will be lost if the disaster lasts up to 24
days." Source: University of Texas, Arlington

"Companies with a major disaster, 29% close within 2 years and 43%
will NEVER reopen." Source: DATAPRO Research

"50% of companies having a disaster without a plan are out of
business within 2 years." Source: IBM Recovery Services

"80% of companies having extended disasters are out of business
within 5 years." Source: University of Minnesota
Risk Categories
          ≒ Regulatory Compliance

          ≒ Outsourcing

          ≒ People

          ≒ Technology

          ≒ Knowledge
Key Elements of a BCM Plan
≒ Business Impact Analysis

≒ Business Recovery Strategy

≒ Contingency Planning

≒ Crisis Management

≒ Awareness Training

≒ Testing and Maintenance
The Truth
While we are not able to predict when a major disaster will unfold,
either manmade or natural, we can still be aware of the likely
impacts and issues that we are faced with in the event of a
disaster or a business disruption and prepare to mitigate and to
continue the operation with minimal disruption.
Procrastination
A potential client once said:

Procrastination is a problem when it comes to doing my business
recovery plan. As a business owner I have a lot to do. Its not like
a disaster is going to happen tomorrow. Besides, we have that
new business pitch. Ive been waiting for this to happen for a
while now. Ill get the recovery plan finished eventually.
Nothing to worry about, itll happen.
Procrastination
Whether natural or man-made, at least one in four businesses
affected by a disaster never reopen. Though emergencies are
unpredictable, when you have a plan in place you can adapt,
recover and stay in control.

Its never too late to protect your business until it is!!

                   BE LIKE NOAH
