There are nearly 3 billion people in this world without reliable access to modern electricity, and almost all of the other 4.3 billion are consuming electricity produced unsustainably. I am fascinated by the connection between renewable energy and sustainable development for people in both categories, and I have established myself as a budding expert in international renewable energy markets and policy and off-grid energy access. I have published and presented invited research on several clean energy topics, and am currently pioneering the Community Participatory Equity model for developing, financing, and maintaining off-grid PV+storage micro-grids in developing regions.
