Since I was young, I had a strong connection with mathematics and problem solving. Mathematics was definitive, certain, and could model reality. As I became more aware of, and connected to, the environment and the community around me I found that I desired to protect and build the bonds between the community and the built environment. The bonds that we develop between our ideas and the community we belong to enhance our lives and should be protected. This is what eventually led to my earning a bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering.
