While on holiday in Tasmania, I was discovered by Francis Grill and signed to Click Model Management. I became an international star through my appearance in Elle magazine. Then I appeared in every issue for six straight years. During this time I got married (at age 21) to Elle creative manager Gilles Bensimon. Eventually I gained even more exposure through Sports Illustrated magazine鈥檚 annual swimsuit issue. I was lucky enough to appear on the cover a record five times, (1986, 1987, 1988, 1994 and 2006).
