The main idea behind the launch of the Centre for European Studies – EU Centre (CES – EUC) in St. Petersburg is to contribute to the understanding of the European integration and European governance processes among the academia and practitioners in Northwest Russia.
This idea is entirely in line with the objectives set for the worldwide network of the European Union Centres by the European Commission’s DG RELEX already in 1998.
Established on the 1st of December 2010 on the basis of the Centre for European studies of the European University at St. Petersburg the new Centre became the twenty seventh member of the EU Centres network.
