I was born on 29 November, 1957, and my family connection with Malpas started a few years later, when my late mother started working as a local GP. In 1963 we moved to Prospect House. In those days the rear of the building was the surgery and the front the residence for us. I attended Malpas Alport Primary School, King’s School, Chester and Sheffield University. I followed my mother onto Malpas Parish Council in 1983. I was Clerk 1985-7, Vice-chairman 1987-8, Chairman 1991-2, Chester City Councillor 1992-2001, Cheshire County Councillor 1997-2001. I returned to the Parish Council in 2003, Vice-Chairman 2007-8, before resigning to become Clerk & Street Cleaner of Churton Parish Council.
