To many, orthodontics is all about clinical technical skills and effective management of the business metrics. And, in all fairness, these ARE ESSENTIAL...skills that allow our organizations to prosper and to continue to serve.
But I believe there is nothing more critical and humbling than an appreciation of the gifts that we, as orthodontists, are honored to give our patients...gifts of health that change people's lives. Whether it is a shy self conscious child or an adult lacking in self esteem, it is an honor to see the human benefit of the miracle of orthodontics done well.
