About
For the past year now I have been studying Quechua seriously, if you are wondering where that language is from, it is predominantly from the Andes in Peru, followed by Bolivia, northern Chile and Ecuador, in Ecuador the main dialect is Quichua AND IN NO WAY IS QUECHUA RELATED TO SPANISH.
Contrary to what may be thought Quechua and Spanish are not in the same language family, Quechua existed prior to the Conquistadors arrival in 1532 and while the Spanish invaders tried to wipe out the language using often cruel methods,Quechua survived. Traditionally Quechua was not a written language although measures to unify the Quechua are being implemented.
