Individually I adore the challenge of long distance road cycling (longest race yet was in Lorne, Victoria 2011 Amy Gran Fondo 120 km). Gardening; where my current focus lies in flowering the orchids (Phalaenopsis spp) especially after the cold season. I have also recently dismantled my marine water tank where my beautiful seahorses used to reside in for years. In my leisure time I enjoy being with my partner, play fetch with our two Maine Coon X cats and chase our 6 rabbits around to help them lose some weight. I also enjoy indulging in personal development books from Malcolm Gladwells series and The Dalai Lamas Cat by David Michie; which I have found extremely inspiring. Areas of Interest Aspects of companion animal practice I really enjoy are related to internal medicine, with special interest in endocrinology. My goal for the next 5 years would be attain a membership with the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists. I also have a soft spot for cats, and would be extremely keen to enrol in online continuing education courses offered by certain universities (e.g. Sydney University, Massey University) within the next 1-2 years.
