Over the past few years I have been working in a Mainframe Environment, and have come to appreciate the strengths of the Mainframe, with its high availability and processing power it has changed the way I look at IT.
Since starting at DHS out of University, I have worked in a Mainframe team, starting in Mainframe Software then moving to Mainframe Communications. I have built skills in SNA/APPN and TCPIP on z/OS and have implemented a number of different functionalities including:
- Enterprise Extender
- SNA/APPN over channels
- Sysplex Distributor
- Application owned Dynamic VIPAs
