Middle Way House is a domestic violence shelter and rape crisis center serving six area counties, including Monroe, Greene, Owen, Lawrence, Martin and Morgan. Currently, I serve as the Prevention Educator and Prevention Programs Coordinator for Building Healthy Relationships—BHR4TEENS—a prevention program designed for 11-18 year olds. The program is presented in junior and high school health classes over a period of one week to reach out, through a variety of media, and raise awareness of gender roles and racial stereotypes that are connected to violence against women. As part of program outreach, I created a newsletter, twitter feed, and Facebook page.
