The Bengal tiger lives primarily in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. It has a yellow to light orange coat with dark brown to black stripes and consumes large prey like deer and buffalo. Male Bengal tigers average 488 pounds and 110-120 inches long while females average 308 pounds and 94-104 inches long. They reach sexual maturity at ages 3-4 years for females and 4-5 years for males and usually have 1-4 cubs per litter. Their distinctive stripes can range in color from dark brown to black. Rare white Bengal tigers exist due to a recessive gene.
