Testimonial: Adapting to the Audience
“She broke this ‘wall,’ and we discussed issues from equal pay to sexual harassment in
a workplace and ways to navigate them.
“We got stellar reviews for Corielle’s speech, and she went the extra mile by talking to
participants who approached her and providing tailored advice.”
- Danara Buvaeva, Russian Business Leader and Diplomat
“We invited Corielle to host a workplace gender equality workshop at IBM in Moscow in
2017. Being Russian and knowing our mentality, I was initially skeptical on the success
of this lecture due to “keep silent” culture of Russian women. But I was surprised how
Corielle felt the audience and adapted her speech by sitting in the audience and telling
engaging, relatable stories, so IBM women started sharing their experiences.

Building the Alliance
“liftUPlift does the difficult, important work of finding and vetting women who are running
businesses, selling services and creating products that are worth our time and money, in
a moment when a lot of us want to make sure our spending lines up with our values. I
also love learning stories of women following their dreams and living out their truths,
which liftUPlift does a fantastic job of highlighting.”
- Heidi Stevens, Chicago Tribune
Networking and community building are two of my greatest strengths, so once I built the
liftUPlift marketplace, I focused on building our Alliance of women-owned businesses. A
few proven tactics included nurturing relationships that led to B2B referrals, hosting and
attending events for women entrepreneurs, and creating member benefits such as
exclusive discounts on products and services from fellow members.

EVENT SPOTLIGHTS
LIFTUPLIFT PHOTOSHOOTS - Various Cities
It is easier to find stock images of pregnant women
eating salad than stock images of diverse women
working together, so we created imagery for liftUPlift.com
by hosting photoshoots with real women entrepreneurs.
We generated revenue from ticket sales, and participants
got headshots and the opportunity to show off their
products in our stock photos.
U.S + RUSSIA WOMEN4WOMEN CONFERENCE - Moscow
With a grant from the U.S. State Department, I hosted a
conference for women entrepreneurs in Moscow. With
strong partners and sponsors, we hosted a two-day
event for 180 people on a $400 budget, featuring guest
speakers and workshops on Day 1, and speed-mentoring
sessions on Day 2. Attendees gave very positive
feedback, and we gained over 50 new Alliance members!
LIFTUPLIFT ALLY AWARDS – Chicago
This annual gala is a fundraiser for liftUPlift Worldwide,
and it honors Chicago’s greatest champions of women.
While raising funds, it also positions us as a focal point in
our local women’s movement by connecting our Allies in
media, business, and nonprofit organizations. Plus, we
get great PR by partnering with Chicago Woman
magazine to publish interviews with our Honorees.
15. Proficiencies
My Role
My first consulting job was in 2009 for a magazine called In Rome Now. I started as
an intern for the magazine’s editors while studying abroad in Rome, and for my final
project, I presented a strategic plan for increasing revenue from ad placements. I
was surprised and thrilled when they immediately hired me to create ad sales decks
and build a new marketing tool with Google Maps, as proposed in my strategic plan.
Combining my skills as a strategist, marketer and entrepreneur in the 10-years
since, I’ve helped many more startups and small businesses grow.

PR, Partnerships and Empowering Women in Tech
Creating Talent is a social responsibility program I launched in partnership with the
Illinois Governor’s Office and the YWCA Chicago, which provides a 1-year GeneXus
license and app development training to women who want to build tech careers. We
generated publicity and built brand equity by launching the training program, which
continues to empower women and graduates 50-60 new GeneXus users each year.
GeneXus is a great tool for building custom apps. It’s a multinational company based in
Montevideo, Uruguay, with most customers concentrated in Latin America, Europe and
Asia. I was hired by their US headquarters in Chicago to help build their brand in the
U.S. After I developed a strategic plan, I spent a year working with them as my full-time
client, leading a multifaceted web, marketing and PR department.
