As a kid I grew up in Hermosa and Manhattan Beach but spent an equal amount of time in Inglewood where my father had a small aerospace shop. Growing up in the south bay I spent a lot of time surfing with friends at 27th St in HB and 29th Street in MB.
After I graduated from high school I went to work for my father and started a small business developing motocross bikes back in the mid 70's. I developed 2 and 4 stoke cycle engines, designed cams and low inertia suspension systems. During that period I built four NMA Grand National Championship bikes. In the mid-90's I received a US patent on an advanced rotary valve for 2 stroke cycle engine.
