I am a Reader in Biomedical Engineering at The School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Newcastle University. I also have strong links with the Institute of Neuroscience in the same Institution. I was previously a senior lecturer at Imperial College, where I held a RCUK fellowship. I have a Ph.D. from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. I also have previous experience in working in the Physics, Chemistry, Bioengineering and Electronic Engineering departments at Imperial College (2002-2005) as well as time in the software industry (2001-2002).
