Desireé N. Bryant studied Biology and Chemistry at Bowie State University, in Bowie, MD. While there she had the prestigious honor of participating in the S.T.E.M. Scholarship Program. As a part of the program she served as a research assistant to Dr. Debra Rayfield and presented her abstract "Estrogen Versus Phytoestrogen-Induced Changes in PC-12 Cell Viability Following An Hypoxic/Ischemic Exposure-A Comparison Among 17-beta Estradiol, Genistein and Daidzen" before the National Council on Undergraduate Research as well as the Association of Southeastern Biologists.
