This document discusses the negative effects of excessive alcohol consumption on individuals and society. It defines two types of drinkers: moderate drinkers who consume alcohol in moderation without issues, and problem drinkers whose alcohol consumption impairs their health, family, and reputation. The complications of excessive drinking are divided into medical disorders and psychiatric disorders. Psychiatric disorders include acute intoxication, withdrawal syndrome, alcoholic seizures, hallucinations, and psychosis.
