Violeta Donawa is a doctoral student in the Department of Sociology at Michigan State University. Her research interests surround the role of information technology in the maintenance of diasporic communities and identity negotiation. Specifically, she examines ethno-racial identity with a specialized focus on Latin@s of African-descent in the United States and their transnational ties.
