Any one of us could develop a chronic disease at any time (though I sincerely hope we don't). My primary aims are:
-- To ensure that people with chronic diseases have the tools they need to stay positive, learn what they need to do, and feel their best.
-- To help patients UNDERSTAND educational materials that could help them to self-manage their care. I can write--or rewrite--patient materials using PLAIN LANGUAGE to reach a 5th or 6th grade reading level.
-- To increase use of home dialysis options that incorporate extensive self-management training and are associated with superior outcomes compared to standard, thrice-weekly in-center hemodialysis.
