About
Associate Professor Xiaolin Meng is Associate Professor at the Nottingham Geospatial Institute (NGI) at the University of Nottingham in the UK. The Institute is a major centre for research into satellite technology, including Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and took part in the development of the Galileo global navigation system for the European Union and the European Space Agency.
Working with Chinese partners, Dr Meng has developed a high-precision low-cost GPS positioning receiver that can deliver real-time positioning with higher accuracy than mass market products but much more cost-effectively than high-end geodetic receivers that are cumbersome to use.
