I am a medical anthropologist with fifteen years of experience in research, teaching, and consultancies concerning women's sexual, reproductive, and maternal health in Pakistan.
Since 1998, my work across Pakistan has explored the impacts of national and transnational development, health sector decentralization, and therapeutic governance on women's health. It has also involved assessments of the ways in which humanitarian emergencies -- such as natural disasters, political crises, and conflict -- affect the provision and use of clinical reproductive, maternal and neonatal health services.
