I've been writing professionally for more than half my life. I launched my professional sports journalism career at the ripe age of 12, covering the oldest continuously operating semi-pro baseball team in the United States for community newspapers along the Redwood Coast of my native Humboldt County, California.
I moved to state capital Sacramento to attend university and delve deeper into the newspaper business at larger publications. I graduated from California State University, Sacramento in May 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and a minor in criminal justice.
