Over the past two decades, I have worked with the World Wildlife Fund’s Conservation Science Program and the Asian Development Bank to develop, design, and implement landscape-scale conservation programs in Asia. Through the years, I have helped to change this approach from being species-centric to a more holistic strategy that also takes into account ecosystems, ecosystem processes and services that support natural and human communities, and addresses climate change impacts at landscape and ecosystems scales. The landscape-scale approach to conservation also allows conservation planners to integrate conservation with development goals for sustainable, green development.
