Read law at University of Auckland in New Zealand, graduating in 1990. Called to the New Zealand Bar the following year. In May of 1992, was called to the Malaysian Bar. Ran own firm from 1999 - 2009, practicing mainly in the area of small corporate and commercial transactions. Work also included Intellectual Property Law and Information & Communications Technology Law. Had been retained by various corporations as their external Legal Advisor.
Presented numerous public seminars in various areas and was also a recurring speaker at the Bar Council Ethics Lecture Programme.
Served on the Penang Bar Committee as Treasurer, Chairman of the Information Technology Sub-Committee, Social Sub-Co
