I am interested in the genetic basis of the impaired myogenic response and autoregulation of renal and cerebral blood flow and end organ damage in aging and hypertension and mechanisms underlying hypertension and diabetic nephropathy. I use an array of techniques including molecular biology, lentiviral and adenoviral based gene therapy, cell culture, immunohistology, laser doppler flowmetry, mass spectroscopy, patch clamp, intracellular imaging, isolated perfused renal and cerebral arteries in vitro, measurement of RBF and CBF in vivo and the generation and characterization of transgenic and Zinc-finger KO animal models.
