Controller
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Controller is responsible for performance and monitoring of daily accounting activities as they relate
to: financial books and records including annual financial audit and business plan, job costing, cash
management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, and insurance and risk
management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
? Assistance with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and related analyses
? Manage cash flow (collections and billings) with project managers and project accountants.
? Calculation and administration of job related cost allocations and billing rates
? Experience coordinating audit activities and managing financial reporting, budget development and
related analyses.
? Job cost reviews and audits
? Assist with fixed assets, depreciation, capital budgets and expenditures
? Assist with weekly and quarterly payroll related functions including payroll taxes and union
agreements
? Customer profitability studies, pricing analysis and business decisions
? Supervision of accounting support staff
? Formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
? Bachelor¡¯s degree in Accounting
? 5 - 10 years¡¯ experience in accounting and awareness of corporate taxes
? Experience in a CPA firm and/or Construction Company is beneficial, CPA preferred
? Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
? Attention to detail, well-organized with ability to prioritize
? The ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels, including finance and
non-finance personnel.
? Very good communication and interpersonal skills
? Experience recruiting, mentoring, training and developing a team, with the ability to delegate
accordingly.
