Archerfish are found throughout Australia and have no known predators. They catch prey such as insects and vegetables by shooting a precise stream of water to knock them into the water from overhanging vegetation, then eating what falls into the water. Archerfish are able to target and hit prey with their water shots to catch food and have adapted this unique hunting method without natural predators threatening their population.
