In his interview with the Australian School of Business, Alex Mally, CEO of CPA Australia, stated that leaders tend to hire people who aren't smarter than them to retain sense of comfort and control. He urged leaders to bring people with expertise to take them to uncomfortable, but relevant, places. His speech on leadership resonated with my career goal of building managerial competence to lead, inspire and influence high calibre people at all organisational levels.
