Following a fairly typical early career working in all phases of the software life cycle from requirements analysis right through to testing and integration I made my first change of direction by becoming test and quality manager on the development of the Vienna Air Traffic Control System.
Thereafter, I moved to systems modelling - returning somewhat to my operational research roots and applying my natural problem solving ability to a variety of systems issues relating to communications networks, command and control systems and system deployment.
