"Chaps" is the former Navy Chaplain who took a stand for the right to pray "in Jesus' name" and suffered misdemeanor court-martial for the crime of "worshiping in public." He was later vindicated by Congress, who rescinded the bad prayer policy for which he was punished, restoring freedom to other chaplains, but costing his 16-year career and pension, after inspiring 300,000 petitioners, 75 Congressman, 35 pro-family groups, and 85% of polled voters.
