URC is a registered society, a non-profit organization (registration no.31.1.2004 & No.1103/2004-04; with Registrar of Societies, Bangalore Urban District, Karnataka, India) working with a vision of carrying socially relevant research to contribute to a responsible civil society and responsive governance in the urban areas in Karnataka, India.
As Secretary, my role is to implement the decisions of Council of Management and oversee the programs. Presently URC is organizing capacity building programmes for women elected members in urban local governments across Karnataka and carrying out field studies on vulnerable populations (widows) in Mangalore.
