Gustavo L. Carvalho, MD, MSC, MBA, PhD. Born in Recife, Brazil in 1965, Dr. Carvalho graduated in Medicine at UFPE (1990). After 4 years residency in General and GI Surgery, he started his masters in surgery at UFPE (1994). Soon after, he moved to Tokyo (1995), with a scholarship awarded by the Japanese government. Dr. Carvalho continued his masters at Keio University as a research fellow of Drs Kitajima and Shimazu (Liver Transplantation) and Clinical Fellow of Drs. Ohgami and Wakabayashi (Laparoscopic Surgery).
