I am an engaged interdisciplinary scholar. I am an engaged scholar, because I believe a university should be in the service of humanity. We can only be of service if we know humanity, and we can only know humanity if we are involved in real life. I am involved in real life issues, as can be seen from my projects – Positive Discipline in Education, Parent, Educator and Learner Excellence in Education, Chance 2 Advance, and the fact that I have been the chair of the School Governing Body of Afrikaans Hoër Seunskool and at the same time the deputy chair of the Afrikaanse Hoër Meisieskool.
