International Network on Participatory Irrigation Management (INPIM) is a global network promoting participatory approaches to irrigation and water resources management. INPIM has opened National Chapters in different countries to promote PIM and initiate broader reforms in irrigation. National Chapters presently exist in 12 countries including Nepal. INPIM Nepal was first initiated in April 30, 1997 with the formation of an ad-hoc committee under the chairmanship of the then Director General of the Department of Irrigation (DOI). The early initiatives were taken by the DOI staff but the organization soon expanded to include farmer representatives, researchers and other development workers.
